Finding love during any season can be rough, but dating during the holiday season can be even harder. You just have to remember, you are not the only single person out there, and millions of others are going through the same exact thing you are. Use the holidays to your advantage, and you can find love easily.
Don’t immediately turn down any invitations to holiday parties, even though you may feel that you don’t want to go alone. Holiday parties are a great way to socialize, mingle, and possibly meet the person of your dreams. Although it may feel uncomfortable at first when you are among all the couples, you will surely realize you are not the only one there alone. If you feel you have to have a date for the parties, then bring another single person along. It will take off the pressure of having to meet everyone by having a friend there to laugh and joke with. It also gives the other person a chance to meet someone.
Holidays are also a great time to try online dating. Although you may not want to bring someone you have never met to Christmas dinner, you can certainly find someone who would want to enjoy a walk among the decorations and festivities. It is a time where people feel vulnerable to family and friend scrutiny for being single, but instead try to relish in it. Make more than one date in a week; take the time to meet new people that are probably feeling the same way as you are. Many people assume that the holidays aren’t a good time to online date so they take a break from finding someone. Use this time to narrow the field a little. If you have less competition in the online dating world, you have more of a chance to find that dream date.
Last but not least, adjust your view of how you see couples and dating during the holidays. The couples that you know are exactly the same, only the environment has changed. Try not to feel the envy that naturally occurs during this time. Their life is no different then other times of the year, just your view of them. Attempt to see dating without the pressure of the holidays, the parties, and the social events that come up frequently during this time. It is hard, but it can be done with the right attitude.

Having romantic expectations with someone new during the holidays can spell misunderstanding, hurt feelings and disappointment. Try to date without an agenda other than to invite your new girl (or gal) to Christmas parties and that of having a good time. There is plenty of time for feelings to blossom after January 1st.
