I absolutely love this post! I'm commenting long after its been posted but its still relevant to this day, most blogs can't say that about their dated posts. Finding someting original for couples who have been together a while is a big issue and I'm really glad to have found this post, AWESOME!!

Another cool date is to take a cooking class together OR plan an evening that starts in the kitchen. Purchase some fun aprons and maybe even make some crazy chef's hats out of paper and enjoy the process. Even if the food doesn't turn out great its still a wonderful and fun way to spend time together.

Cook her dinner/make breakfast/lunch. My dad used to do that for my mom all the time, and does it for me/my siblings all the time now. He still makes her the waffles she loved on the honeymoon for her birthdays (whipped cream/powdered sugar/strawberries) I think its cute & it's one of the rare occasions they're romantic/means a lot to the both of them. ps. women/men LOVE food. It's universal & catching on fast! Haha. Yeah I know... bad joke. Ooh well. There you go! -Grace

Im Grace Marie *****, I was born on January 7th, 1992. YES! Im 17 & nieve (everything else that comes with it) but im not hateful. I wish my parents were still romantic, & speaking for the new generation (AKA cyber geniouses that haven't figured out yet that talking on aim & facebook is more impersonal then conversating with walls...brick ones) i have to admit nobodys got a clue, and we're all looking up to divorcees. no my parents aren't divorced, so my argument isn't as credible as my friends would be. Argument: that the real immaturity isn't romantics. they aren't hopeless or however we like to make them look(how they define themselves for lack of a better discription) they're all we have left. They're the last chance we've got for the spark (which doesn't solve the worlds problems piling up, however it makes them a hell of a lot easier to deal with) hence my parents can't stand each other and the world keeps turning. But imagine they could. Imagine they still could show me what made me. Imagine romodels existing again. Romodels like a visionary starting up a site to help hateful people that bad mouth it find their happy place in the universe with their significant other. This isn't the Doctor Phil Q&A cover site. This is a small inspiring page in this persons corner of the universe. And i think it's a beautiful thing and we need all the visionaries we can get anymore. I need for my significant other in the future to love me the way this guy/girl loves helping your ungrateful a$$(i dont like cursing still), so please dont take the time out of your day to make fun of somebody else in their attempts to be together in whatever way they deam nessesary.. instead why dont you worry about who broke your cold knarled and angry heart and jott some of these things down for whenever you bounce back... talk to an old friend if they even enjoy listening to you anymore, and hug something... ANYTHING! It's only as bad as you let it get. Rock Bottom:badmouthing sweet little dating advice sites.

BTW, I really like the "buy outfits for each other" idea. I'm gonna do that and go bowling with her on our next date.

Dare to be different!

Ron- please compile all these ideas into a list... there are some really good ones here, but you gotta sift through silly banter to find them. Thanks for the site!

All you negative folks... find a new blog please! For the rest who are just looking for ideas, here's one for you:

I call this one "Blind Date".
It was my wife's 40th birthday and as she suspected, I had a surprise party planned. In order to throw her off the scent, I did this... we got in the car about three hours before the party was to start. (remember, she supposed to know nothing about the partry) Before I even start the car, i hand her a blindfold and tell her that she will be wearing this ALL day. At first she's a apprehensive, but she plays along and in minutes the excitement starts to build.

We drive for a while to make sure she has no idea of where we are, then I stop at our first destination, a small cafe, and I walk her inside. Once inside she is free to remove the blindfold and we have a drink and a taste of something. 15 minutes late, the blindfold goes back on and we head to the car for our next "secret" destination. At this point, I gotta tell you, her adrenaline was flowing! And so was mine! We made a few more stops like this; a specialty coffee shop, an italian dessert shop, etc. After the third stop, she wanted me to pull the car over NOW for some real fun! I could have obliged and the date would have been a raging success, but there were people and a party waiting and there would be plenty of time for that later... PLENTY OF TIME!

By the time we got to the surprise party, she knew the drill about walking into a place blind folded, only this time when she removed it, she was standing right in the middle of all her friends and family cheering "SURPRISE!"

This date is all the things you're looking for: cheap, exciting and rewarding. It also creates trust and good conversation.

In keeping with the theme of this blog... I hope I passed Bob's grammer/spelling test! LOL

OKAY. One, love the fights going on here. Hilarious! Two, Ashlee- good idea reading blogs cause its soo true. Three, Soph- by saying that you are just bitching yourself so maybe you should think things out before you type them. :D Four, i find it funny that people have been posting on this for three years now. Five, i like arguing :) and finally, MY IDEA...

everyone does it, but just go to a party! it doesnt seem like you would get time to talk or spend good time with one another, but every time me and my boyfriend have gone we enjoyed ourselves so much and got closer. and we've known each other for 3 years, together most of that time. just try it :)
