With Valentines Day right around the corner, the flurry to make last minute plans is in full force, especially if you happen to be one of the many last minute planners. If you live in a major metropolitan area, good luck trying to find a restaurant that will take your reservations this late in the game.
If you’re looking to impress your date but have waited until the last minute to make your plans, don’t sweat it because it’s never too late to do something personal for your sweetheart. Below are some great ideas that can be put together with little time and a lot of love.
Can’t book a restaurant? Order in some gourmet take-outs from a local marketplace and pick out your honey’s favorites. Be romantic by adding wine, candles, and rose petals.
No place to take your honey? If the weather’s nice, take a stroll on the beach. To set a romantic ambience, go at night, take some blankets, and cuddle up together.
Conflicting evening schedules? Who said Valentine’s Day can’t be celebrated during the day? If you and your love can’t make it together in the evening, try to set up something during the day. See if you can both get the day off work. Take a walk on the boardwalk or pier, or take your love on a picnic outing.
Out of flowers at the florist shop? Don’t worry, this should be an easy one. Just drop by your local grocery store and pick up some prepackaged bouquets. Ask an assistant to combine the packages together to create one big, beautiful bouquet. Add some nice baby breaths, decorative wrap, and ribbon. To impress your love just a little further, add some red, white, and pink V-day appropriate balloons.
No good V-day cards left at the store? Making a home-made card is so much better because it adds that personal touch. Just pick up some simple materials at the store (e.g., construction paper, colored markers, crayons, lace, glitter, stickers, glue, scissors, colored tissue paper, etc.) and get creative. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be an artist to impress your love. The most important thing is that you put your heart into it.
Having trouble finding the perfect gift? Get creative and make your own love bird scrap book. Buy a simple photo album (the kind with the removable plastic cover that goes over sticky adhesive page). Rummage through pictures and pick some from times that you two shared together. Add some headlines and notes from inside jokes and fun times shared. It’s always meaningful to capture unforgettable, priceless memories.
You’ll be surprised how far you can go with these ideas. Remember, it’s all about working smarter, not harder. And your love will never suspect that you’ve waited until the last moment!
