dating scene
It's a Saturday night, you've done your errands, cleaned your apartment, worked out, cooked dinner, and now it's 8pm. You call your group of friends – the first is on her way out with her boyfriend of three years, the second is heading out to meet a girl on the other side of town for drinks, and the last is already scoping out girls for the night. This is one of those times where being single isn't so fun. However, not being tied down to someone and being able to come and go as you choose can be a positive thing.
When It's Fun
Whether or not you're happy about being single, the experience can help you grow. By taking the time to learn more about yourself, you can become a well-rounded individual who knows what they want and needs. You will also become eager and willing to seek those things out immediately. This knowledge will ensure greater dating success in the future because mentally, you will have a list of criteria that you need or want before you get serious with someone.
When It's Not So Fun
Think Valentine's Day. This Hallmark holiday automatically makes someone that isn't attached feel insignificant to the world. Instead, why not take time to appreciate yourself or any another single person in your life on that day. This will allow the both of you to cope together, while still acting out in a positive way.
Appreciate the experience
Being single can be a liberating time, so be sure to enjoy every moment of it. I have no doubt that when you’re attached in the future, you’ll wish that you took the time to appreciate being single. Not only will you learn things about yourself, but also about being in a relationship and how to value the other person more effectively. All of these things will lead to a more mature and positive dating experience for a lifetime.
