Hey Arkady,

Haha! That sounds like one of my brothers! Every time we get together, I always get the distinct impression he is purposely trying to pull a one-ups-it on everyone else in the room. Never fear, for I have my ways of bringing him back down to Earth. (You know, threatening to resurrect fond yet truly embarrassing kid stories! haha!)

In all fairness though, there are just as many women who also try too hard. Think about it: hasn't there ever been a time where you wish you could politely tell a woman her makeup looks way too heavy, or, dare I say, gaudy! I have a friend who goes overboard with the eye shadow, using these bold, brash colors that seem to cover almost the entire top half of her face, deterring from her natural beauty. Then there's another friend who uses her eyeliner to make a mole (ala Cindy Crawford); I really wish I had the heart to tell her how Amateur Hour it looks!

Thanks for the comment!

Good advice. It's just as important to not be overdressed and not look "cheesy" like so many guys do. Few things are more unattractive than a guy who tries too hard...

Thanks,

Arkady
