The Liberty Center Association for the Arts, Inc. makes its home in an historic movie theatre / vaudeville house, the Lona Theatre, built in 1922 and later remaned the Liberty Theatre. The building was purchased by Meadow gold in the fifties and turned into cold storage plant. In the eighties, the building was given to the Sedalia Community Theatre and it was remodeled back into a theatre. In 1999, the Sedalia Community Theatre, The Sedalia Area Council for the Arts and the Liberty Center, Inc. consolidated and became Liberty Center Association for the Arts, Inc. and is now the center for arts activities in Sedalia and the surrounding area.
