We have just finished adding a good amount of paragliding spots all around the United States. Similar to hang gliding, the paragliding rig allows you to soar through the sky while you’re suspended below a flexible parachute. If you’ve never been paragliding, there are tons of outfitters around that offer tandem lessons for beginners. Paragliding is not a cheap activity however; a tandem flight will cost you around $150 to $200.
If you’ve been looking for something new and exciting to do, look no further. Once you get the hang of it (no pun intended), Hang Gliding is an activity that can be both peaceful and exhilarating. Although California is by far the most popular hang gliding destination (mainly because of the great weather and scenery), there are some great spots around the United States where you could enjoy the activity.
We have added tons of new activities and things to do in the Palo Alto / Mountain View area. Whether it’s a fun game of basketball with your friends, a competitive game of tennis with your co-workers, or a relaxing day of fishing…we’ve got all the information you need to plan that perfect outing.
We have just finished adding hundreds of skateparks from all around the United States. Skateboarding is tons of fun and can be enjoyed alone or with a group of friends. There is at least one skatepark in most major cities, so you would be hard pressed not to find one nearby.
We have just finished adding over 1,300 golf driving ranges around the United States. If you want to play some golf without the commitment of 18 holes, head out to your nearest driving range and hit a few balls. Driving ranges are usually a part of a larger golf course and allow you to practice your golf swing. If you’re on a date guys, score some points by helping your date with her form.
Another great idea provided by Eugene (last idea was the psychic’s database)! Dog parks are a fantastic place to meet like minded individuals. They are also a fun place to go if both you and your date own a dog. You can find the activity under “Goofy Stuff” in the Fun theme or go straight to the activity through the drop down menu.
Also, if we missed your favorite dog park, please let us know so that we can add it.
We have just completed our city guide for the Santa Barbara area. The guide covers things to do, nightlife, places to eat, and dating in the city. You can also use our date or local planning interface to find tons of other things to do in and around Santa Barbara.
We have also finished making some major changes to our website which should drastically improve your experience. Browsing through activities and retrieving results based on your zip should now be 80% faster than before. If you experience any issues, please let us know and we’ll fix it right away.
Eugene, our brilliant software engineer, is working hard to make your experience at PlanJam a lot more enjoyable (it makes him happy). With the addition of so many new entries, we have noticed a slight lag while retrieving activities. The new method utilizes JSON and will be significantly faster, especially if you’re joining us from a slower connection.
If all goes well, we should have everything up and running by the beginning of next week.
Adding a little drama to your relationship can actually be good thing.
Performing arts is a wide field that often comes as a surprise to those without much experience. We may be spoiled by the computer generated graphics of the modern motion picture, but the stage still retains its visceral appeal and it’s magic.
If you’ve always wanted to go skydiving but never thought there was a location near you (those of us living in the city), you’ll be surprised. There is at least one or two drop zones within 50 miles of most metropolitan cities around the United States.
Skydiving is an exhilarating experience and not as expensive as you would think (about $100/jump). Your first jump will be tandem (with a professional instructor) so you’ll have nothing to worry about…unless you’re afraid of heights.
Don’t forget to come back and let us know how you’re experience was.
