It may come as a surprise, but many short men date tall women. In fact, there are a number of celebrities that are 5'7 and under. A few in particular include Al Pacino, David Spade, Tom Cruise, Michael J. Fox, Emilio Estevez, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Green, Martin Sheen, and Prince (who is 5'2). Despite being short, it would seem that they defy the adage that tall women aren't attracted to shorter men. When it comes down to choosing a mate, height isn't one of the most important factors. Many women choose to date men that are shorter than them. Being short doesn't mean that you have lost your sense of style or appeal. In fact, all of these men are known for their style, good looks, and ability to attract beautiful tall women.
If you're thinking, "Well that's great for them, they're celebrities, " think again. You don't need to be a celebrity to attract tall women, no matter what your height, you can attract beautiful tall women. First there are a few tricks that you can use to enhance your looks and help give you a few inches of height, as well as steps you may take to ensure that your personality is much larger than your physical stature. You'll find that by taking these tips into account, you'll have no problem attracting taller woman, who will see you for the person that you truly are.
First, you can take some steps to address your physical height. Wearing boots that have a thick heel can give you several inches of height immediately. Just make sure that you are comfortable in whatever footwear that you choose. Also, wearing shirts, jackets, or suits that have vertical stripes will give you the appearance of added height. Pinstripes, though subtle will work in this capacity. Also, solid colors tend to add length as opposed to mixing several colors or prints. When wearing suits, use solid colors with pinstripes and save a splash of color for your tie or shirt.
Thick belts with audacious buckles may look great on cowboys, but they'll detract from your height and draw attention to your middle. It's a good idea to select thin solid color belts that aren't the focal point of your outfit. In addition, it is a good idea to work out regularly. By staying in shape and adding muscle to your frame, you can enhance the very best of your features and ensure that you have a lot to offer a woman, physically.
Also, make sure that you aren't slouching and are always practicing good posture. Good posture will go a long way to help give you the appearance of height. Always stand straight with your shoulders squared. That will ensure that you are making the very most out of your physical stature.
Along with the physical steps that you can take, one personality trait that you can use to attract tall women is a sense of humor. You don't have to go out and get a night job at your local comedy club, but by using humor and staying upbeat and positive, you'll find that more women will be attracted to you, no matter what your height.

I'm a very tall girl and somehow i always end up in love with someone way shorter but I was affraid that feeling wouldnt be mutial becus of my height. But please let me know why it is that short men actually do like taller woman??
Hey Bonnie, there's nothing wrong with falling in love with a shorter guy. Don't let your height be a barrier against meeting people and having fun. Short guys more often get avoided by the shorter girls in favour of the six foot or more tall dudes who themselves avoid taller women. Short guys do love you and appreciate you so don't let society's stupid height rules dictate who you date. You just might be pleasantly surprised at the quality of man that goes with being short.
Hey Marina, if your man doesn't have a problem with your height, neither should you if you're confident in your own looks. He never said your heels were a problem so you should leave it at that. FYI, it's usually women that are comfounded with height issues not wanting to be taller than him flatfooted, or worse in heels. The issue of weight is just as bad as height because many tall women forbid shorter guys in fear of being heavier than him. It's perfectly OK to be taller and heavier than your boyfriend as long as you're both confident with each other.
I was reading your blog, and I had to write about my experiences in trying to meet and date tall girls, so as to offer another male’s point of view.
When I was 24, I met a divorced woman, 32, who was 5’11”. I was 5’8”. It was a brief affair, but I just could not get over her long legs and curvy broad hips. She possessed a tapered waist which only accented her curvy hips ever further. Because of her, I developed an appreciation for long legs and the natural curvy hips of a tall woman.
The relationship ended due to the age difference, plus there were no jobs in the city I lived in. I lived in a city on the great lakes, and it was a rust belt city. I moved to Houston, TX, where I found a job quickly, and I moved into a singles apartment complex. Back then, Houston was the singles capital of America.
In this apartment complex, there was a loose knit group of single men and women. The group would throw spur of the moment parties, we would go to Happy Hours given by local radio stations and other singles events. (I even dated one of the girls in the group for a while.) In this singles group was Heidi, 5’11”, early 20’s, blonde hair, blue eyes and attractive. I remember one time she was standing before me, while I was sitting in a chair by the complex pool. She was wearing a white 2 piece bikini. I looked up through her long tanned legs to those broad hips, bringing memories of the past. In the few times we talked, she never expressed any interest in me, and I accepted that.
One Saturday, during the summer while at another pool in the same complex, I and2 or 3 other guys were having a few beers, when another man I knew walked up to us and mentioned that he had proposed to Heidi. She had turned him down, and he wanted anyone in the group, to put a good for him with her. To say the least, we were all stunned that a guy would say this to a group of acquaintances. Anyway, Heidi never did change her mind. A few months later, while at my pool, I overheard two girls talking about Heidi turning down two other men. I do not know if these girls were talking out of envy or were mocking these two men, but this showed that Heidi was getting the attention of men.
I stayed at this apartment complex for two summers. (Fast forward 12 years, one child and one divorce later.) A friend of mine wanted me to join a singles dating organization. I said before I join, I want to see what some of the girls in this organization looked like. He obtained about 20 biographies with photos of the women. It must have been photo 8 or 9, but there was Heidi. Her name appeared on the top of the page, with her photo below and two paragraphs about her life. I remember this one phrase, 34 years old, never married, no children.
I thought, how could this be? If she were not the most desirable girl in a social gathering, she certainly was one of the more desirable girls. I knew of three men who offered to marry her, and there must have been more. And this made me think about my own personal experiences as I approached taller women. As I went back in time, I remember two girls telling me to my face they wanted a taller man, one girl in a gym, talked to me with such a look of disinterested she couldn’t have looked more uninterested if she had wanted to, another girl I approached looked at me as if I had insulted her for even talking to her. On line, I met a girl 5’11”, and we worked out together once in my apartment complex gym, after that she did not return my two phone calls, another girl named Mary turned me down for a taller man. Now, you may say it is because of my looks, that could be true, but as I approached girls closer to my height, my success rate went way up.
This blog made me think about the rejections by tall girls, and it angered me, but not at the time the rejection. Only years later, when I actually tallied them up, for this letter, did I get angry. I was rejected not because I was ugly, bald, fat, had a dead end job etc.. No. The reason I was rejected by all of these women was my height, as if you can measure a man’s character or worth by using a yardstick. Not one even bothered to put forth the effort to get to know me much less date me. That later changed when I was divorced and single, but not for the right reasons.
These tall females, who I dated, were in their mid to late 30’s and found themselves with little to no interest from tall or short men. They experienced that a tall man was no more interested in dating a tall woman any more than a man with black hair wanted to date a woman with black hair. And the shorter men, like me, who for years had been rejected, were reluctant to get rejected again.
I had a relationship with a girl 5’11” another 5’10”, one wanted me who was 6’, but all these girls were past their prime i.e. mid to late 30’s. All three were divorced and found that men were not approaching them, just as Heidi discovered. And this made me wonder how many other women had squandered their youth and fertility because of the obsession for a tall man? I, who would have relished the opportunity of having curvy broad hips and a tapered waist to hold all night and to make love to into the early hours of the morning, was never, not once, even given a chance to start a relationship. That changed years later, when taller girls approached me, but my interest was for a younger female. For I could date younger women, and I did. When I was 38, my first girlfriend was 27, my next was 27, and my last was 24, who became my second wife.
I am now married with sons 11, 7 and 3 along with a son 22 from my first marriage. I am a good father and husband. I give my boys attention and time, as a matter of fact last week; I went on a Boy Scout camp with the 11 and 7 year old. They have electric motorcycles, pedal carts, all sorts of video games, and have traveled many places for vacations. I have traveled the world on business, and my wife has been on a few trips with me. I have been to Singapore, Japan, Sarawak, Brunei, Russia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, England, France, Netherlands, Scotland, Tunisia, Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, the Arctic Circle, Hawaii, and 20 - 30 states of the United States. I can almost say there is not a city in the US where I don’t know of a good restaurant. I have 3 degrees, and I have co-authored a US patent. I have made over 6 figures for 10 plus years, my house (4 3.5 2) is paid for, so are my cars.
I could have provided a good life to any girl. I wanted a taller girl because of the physical turn on and to for fill one of my desires, yet not one single tall girl (20’s age) gave me a chance. I was turned down consistently and without a second thought.
So, if you are a single girl in your late 20’s or early 30’s with no prospect of a husband or children in the immediate future, you have no one to blame but yourself. There were men like me, who wanted a leggy female, (I did not need to have a taller girl, but liked the idea.) But they, like me, were never accorded the opportunity. And the reality is that the vast majority of tall women will not even consider a shorter man until it is too late. You would think it would be obvious that if you included shorter males in your suitor selections, your odds would increase in finding a mate, for there are a lot more shorter males than there are taller ones. So my advice would be to accept the advances of all men and get to know them. Throw away the yardstick, you may find someone like me, who would love to share his life and love with a tall girl.
I disagree with a lot of what you have to say, sugar land Bill. You are implying that only women who are past their prime and in some way desperate will give a shorter guy a chance. That is simply not true. I will agree that it's isn't overly common to see taller women with shorter men. However, I've been doing a bit of research on the subject (especially on weddings between tall women/shorter men). Most of those couples were of average age and the women were not desperate. They simply fell in love.
Everyone has preferences. Yes a lot of women do prefer taller men. However, there are lots of guys out there who won't give a plus sized girl a chance. There are lots of people who won't date outside of their race. People put all kinds of limits on who they will date. Just because someone goes outside what is deemed normal doesn't mean they are desperate.
I'm 5'8" and my wife is 3 inches taller. When she wears heels she is 5 inches taller. No problem with us. It's all a matter of preference for everyone and I guarantee the preference will change when you meet the right one... shorter or taller than you.
My boyfriend is 5'3" and I am 5'7". We have been good friends for 4 years and recently started dating 3 months ago. I have never been so much in love with anyone. He says I look exotic and he looks rich for dating a taller girl, I just laugh because it's cute.
I'm 6'0 and married to a wonderful man who is 5'10. That's not my issue. When considering height, ladies get over it! 10 years ago I met a great man. We had alot in common , he was smart, funny and brilliant. We got along great.I let the fact that he was 5'5 get to me and I regret I didn't end up with him. I love my husband, but I'll always love the other man as well.

Look at it this way:
My "preference" is for a girl with a C cup bust or larger but I'll gladly date a girl with a smaller breast size.
If dating a taller guy is a "preference", then there has to be some shorter guys thrown in there for good measure.
Also, I've heard some dumb-ass reasons for dating taller guys. My favorite one is "I feel protected"; news flash: Tall guys aren't bullet-proof.
Short guys, do yourself a huge favour from a 5'4 guy. Get off this shallow North American continent and forget about these women. Go European! Go South American! Go Asian! Just forget about American and Canadian girls altogether. You can't change ignorance but you can influence it by not paying attention to their stupid needs anymore. Let them keep their heightist ways that have been washed into heads and let them continuing fighting each other for the tall guys they so desire. There is better in this world and women from different countries are a lot more open and less restrictive about height. I try and get away every year and meet women in other parts of the world. They see past height and appreciate men of all shapes and sizes. Good luck to all.
Call me a weirdo but I'm a short guy who actually prefers taller women! Yeah short women are not attractive, I like the long legs and body. Short women can have all the tall guys they want cause I don't like them anyway. Most of them are rude and btchy while the tall women are shy. Most tall women arent afraid to date a short man who's confident but you need to not be intimidated and just go up and talk to them. Thats how I met my 5"11 beauty when I'm 5"5 lol!
beautifull story sugar land bill you are right. Also I have noticed when they get dumped after having babies then they start looking without the height preferance ( you'll notice this on dating sites). But yeh sorry to hear you didnt get what you wanted WHEN you wanted it but its their loss. I want the same thing im 5'10 and I want a 5ft10 girl same height or more.Long legs and perfect hips. Not just any 5ft10 girl but one that has a thick build (not fat). I willing to do anything. I'd fight a lion.
Just go onto plentyoffish.com and you'll see so many of the tall ones with children, been dumped by the 'taller men' its hilarious. So many of them have been flirting with the taller men , who now seek petite females. Shame these ladies are well over 30 now, many approaching 40.
I guess being tall is one thing but having the brain of a giraffe doesnt get you very far. Whos going to touch these over 30 females with a stick. Most of them have kids and dont want any more children.
All over what, 2 or 3 inches ???
I am 5'5 and my wife is 6'0. We have been married for 2 years, and been together for a total of 8 years. I saw hear 6'0 slim model like frame, and couldn't resist. She was attacted to my confidence/swagger, style, and it didn't hurt that I stay I stay in shape. We are both madly in love with each other. There is no such thing as "out of your league". Go for it.
Hey easy with all the uptight b*tches talk. Has it ever occurred to you that some tall girls have been considered weird or freaks for being taller than everyone else their whole lives and we're pretty self conscious about it still?
It's not so bad now that I'm an adult but growing up I was much taller than everyone else and all I wanted to do was blend in.
I agree only dating taller guys will HUGELY limit the dating pool but my reasons in the past for not dating a shorter guy have been that I found it hard to feel pretty, sexy or feminine if I'm towering over a guy.
I'm working to get over that and have been seeing a guy a couple of inches shorter than me now because he is such a great guy, but I can't say it didn't make me uneasy at first. But it had nothing to do with feeling shorter guys were inferior or anything like that - being a tall woman isn't always easy either!
HELLo...lovin this blog...glad i got to read all these interesting stories.....im a 5'10ish female...who excel in sports..use to be a lil insecure about my height in highschool...but when i start gettin taller..my height made it easy for my personality to stick out...and had a big advantage in sports that i loved...but the only thing i had a problem with was dating shorter guys...at first i felt like i was too much...but then shorter dudes seem imtimidating by me..and always say "how tall are you"...so after that short guys wasnt in my catergory anymore...shortly after that i begin dating taller guys..which was cool in the beginning..but afterwhile..got a lil old...or lost interest...Being with someone taller doesnt mean that he might be the lover of your life....I am currently dating...a 5'6 dude...who i love deeply ..i am the happiest i ever been in my whole life...i never thought this would happen and i am glad i didnt let a a lil height get in the way of my true love...he is funny, loveable, provider, sexy, attractive young man...plus we have fun together...For those short guys out there looking for taller women..all i have to say is be very outgoing and a sense of humor is important..and dont be afraid to stand out...stepping out your element shows that you are not afraid and also makes your girl feel special.
I am 5'7". I particularly like girls close to my height or taller than me. I would not rule out shorter girls either, but taller girls is just my preference.
I like my height. I like everything about myself. I am confident about my abilities, accomplishments, career, etc. I am not a comedian, but I have a good sense of humor. I am not a bodyguard, but I have been known to stand up to older and bigger bullies and come out winning always. I have stood up to adversities, which have built my character. I know that I do not look very hot, but I am told that I look handsome. I have dark hair, great bone structure, and a fit body.
I am 34 years old. And still a virgin. Why? Because not a single woman I asked out ever went out with me. About 99.9914% of the 3,500 odd women whom I contacted since 2001, who had not already filtered me out based on height, never even responded to my messages. Only about 30 women responded and none of them were in my town.
So, what I am pointing out is that if you have found a girl for whom her heels are less important than your inner person, consider yourself lucky. Women can be as shallow, or even more shallow than men.
What makes this especially disheartening for me is that I have tall genes, but ended up short. My height stopped growing when I was 13 and got mumps. My brother was exactly 5'7" at 13 and he is now 6'2". I am the shortest in my family. My mom is 5'8" and my dad is 6'2". I do not mind being shortest in my family one bit though. I even want my girlfriend/wife to be taller than me. However, I have had no luck whatsoever!
"I found it hard to feel pretty, sexy or feminine if I'm towering over a guy."
This is the weirdest kind of statement I hear from women too often ...
Why is your femininity and your identity relative to someone else's height, strength, appearance, masculinity/femininity, etc?
Shouldn't your prettiness, sexiness and femininity come from within you?
i'm a short guy and i've dated all sorts of women many of them taller than me!u know what it doesn't matter AT ALL!Dont define this sHittt!!!!Hotness cant be defined!;-)
I stand an average height of 5'10" but my girlfriend is a 6' tall blonde volleyball Player. I was a skinny track runner for the college we both attended. She tells me she fell in love with my personality when we were just friends. I bulked up to make her feel safe and always do the sweetest things for her. I advocate her wearing heels when we go out and the only issue is taller guys wanting to fight me b/c they feel they always get the tall beauty. we just laugh in their face and make out real aggressively so they know what's up. and they know that she is indeed going home with me.
