Are You The Only Single One?

by Ron Zvagelsky

Having Fun While SingleIt's a Saturday night, you've done your errands, cleaned your apartment, worked out, cooked dinner, and now it's 8pm. You call your group of friends – the first is on her way out with her boyfriend of three years, the second is heading out to meet a girl on the other side of town for drinks, and the last is already scoping out girls for the night. This is one of those times where being single isn't so fun. However, not being tied down to someone and being able to come and go as you choose can be a positive thing.

Date Movie: "The Birdcage"

by Ron Zvagelsky

The BirdcageThe Birdcage (1996 - COMEDY - Robin Williams & Nathan Lane): Robin Williams and Nathan Lane are absolutely hilarious as a gay South Miami Beach couple.

Armand Goldman (Williams) is the proud owner of The Birdcage, a drag club on the Miami Beach strip, while his eccentric partner Albert (Lane) is the star of the show. When their son Val (Williams’ son from a previous heterosexual relationship 20 years earlier) brings news of an engagement to the daughter of an ultra-conservative Senator, they're absolutely thrilled. But there’s a catch…the Senator (Gene Hackman) and his family are coming over for dinner and they’re under the impression that Armand is the Cultural Ambassador to Greece. What lengths will Armand and Albert go to convince the Senator that they have the quintessential American family? It’ll take the performance of a lifetime.

The Importance Of A First Impression

by Ron Zvagelsky

The First ImpressionWhen you go out on a date, be honest and upfront about who you are, what you stand for and what you're looking for. This helps to avoid any misconceptions in the future and allows for greater success in the overall scheme of things. When you’re letting someone else get to know you, make sure that you present yourself genuinely; otherwise, they’ll see right through you.

While you may be nervous and may embark in some of your more embarrassing habits, it's natural to feel so and it's likely the other person feels the same. Don’t worry about those nervous habits – be yourself and everything else will fall into place. By the second date, things will be much easier. Your date will probably have a general idea of who you are, and they’ll continue to learn more after each subsequent date or meeting. This growing experience helps shape a connection for a potential relationship.

Do Opposites Attract?

by Ron Zvagelsky

Do Opposites Attract? If the old cliché is any indication, then opposites do get together. Whether or not opposites actually attract more often than similar people is something that has been studied over and over by people who get paid to know that stuff. Regardless of these findings, it’s true that sometimes people can find something interesting in another person that they’re not able to find within themselves.

Dating At The Workplace

by Ron Zvagelsky

Dating At WorkPeople are now spending more and more time at the workplace, leaving little room for outside social interaction. In fact, we often spend more time with our colleagues than with our family and friends. Because of this, people often times start to develop feelings for another coworker within the workplace.

So what action do you take when you realize that you are attracted to somebody at work? Do you start dating that person? Or do you stay clear of such relationships? First things first – we all know that dating a coworker can turn into a sticky situation. In many companies, it is considered taboo. Although I don’t want to turn this into meaningless, technical advice, you do have to take company dating policies into consideration. Most companies won’t have any written policies against dating another colleague, but that doesn’t necessarily signify the green light.

How To Get Over Your Ex

by Ron Zvagelsky

Getting Over A Broken HeartYou and your significant other recently ended the relationship. You’re hurt, sad, angry, and just don’t know how you will ever get over the break up. There are very few things in life that can be as painful as a broken heart. So what should you do when faced with such a difficult time in your life?

The first thing any break up will do is cause emotional and mental distress. Therefore, the best thing to do is to talk to somebody about what you’re going through and how you’re feeling. Venting out will help to release all the built-up stress, anger, sadness, and worries. If you find yourself uncomfortable speaking to somebody, write it down on a sheet of paper, in a personal diary or journal. The worst thing you can do is to internalize all of the negative feelings. It is so important to just let it all out.

by Ron Zvagelsky

Is He Gay?Ladies, we have all encountered this problem at least once in our lives – you’re really digging this guy and want to ask him out on a date. The only problem is that you have a hunch he might be gay. So you end up asking yourself, “Is this crush a lost cause?” Hmmm…I thought, we, women were suppose to be able to spot a gay man from miles away. What’s happened? Unless he’s sporting a rainbow bumper sticker on his car, there are no sure ways to tell whether somebody is gay. However, some keen observation can go a long way.
